The “sea gulls” history
Our shop was founded in 1950 by Antonio Staiano and his american wife. In 1972 Agnese and Paolo Staiano started to run the shop and made the Sea Gull one of the most exclusive ceramic shop on the island, with the best selection of hand made and hand painted italian ceramics. Several italian artisans have been working for the Sea Gull through the years, reproducing on ceramic the original taste of the owners.

Il nostro negozio fu fondato nel 1950 da Antonio Staiano e sua moglie americana.
Dal 1972 Agnese e Paolo Staiano hanno portato avanti l'attività facendo diventare il Sea Gull il negozio di ceramiche artistiche più esclusivo dell'isola, grazie ad un'accurata selezione di ceramiche italiane fatte e dipinte a mano.
Molti artisti italiani hanno lavorato per Sea Gull negli anni, riproducendo l'autentico stile e il gusto "Sea Gull".

About our ceramics
All our ceramics are handmade and handpainted by artisans that use the same technics since hundred of years. In this process, potters create the basic shape of each piece by hand out of a plain lump of clay. After the first firing at about 1.000 degree celsius, the ceramic gets glaced and then each motive will be handpainted. After the second firing for about 24 hours the ceramic has reached it final stage. During the whole production our artisans focus on the highest quality of materials, ensuring the highest standards of quality. Each of our ceramic is foodsafe and certified by the FDA. Carefully packed and fully insured we ship our products all over the world.
Tutte le nostre ceramiche sono fatte e dipinte a mano da artigiani che usano le stesse tecniche da centinaia di anni. In questo processo, i vasai creano a mano la forma base di ogni pezzo con un semplice pezzo di argilla. Dopo il primo fuoco a circa 1.000 gradi centigradi, la ceramica viene dipinta a mano. Dopo il secondo fuoco per circa 24 ore, la ceramica ha raggiunto il suo stadio finale. Durante tutta la produzione i nostri artigiani si concentrano sulla massima qualità dei materiali, garantendo i più alti standard di qualità.
